If you have landed on this website and are reading this post right now, then chances are that you either are dealing with a negative Nancy right now or you have at some time in the past.
I invite you guys to stick around and read this post till the end and share the experience you’ve had and how you dealt with it in the comments below.
Let’s get started, OK?
What Is A Hater & How To Deal With Them?
A hater is anyone who discourages you or doubts that you can do any task that you set out to do either large or small.
This could be anything from making the basketball team at school, getting into an elite group, or accomplishing anything that is worthwhile.
This is especially true when it comes to building an affiliate marketing business or learning how to become an entrepreneur.
Haters actually thrive on seeing you fail and they use this as fuel to bring you down even more and help them rise up.
There are several ways for you to deal with these type of people and I’ll be going into more detail on this within the next few minutes so I encourage you guys to continue reading.
However, one of the best ways I’ve found to deal with these type of people is to simply ignore them and don’t entertain them in any way.
One of the worst things you could possibly do is to let them know that they’re getting to you and letting them directly influence the task you have set out to do.
In the next section, I’ll be showing you why haters exist and why you need them to achieve any type of success in life.
Why Do We Have Haters & What Causes Them To Hate On You?
Plain & simple anyone who criticizes you or feels the need to harass you have got some serious mental issues going on.
There is usually something going on in their life that they aren’t content with and they’re miserable.
They could hate their job, the relationship they’re in with their significant other, or simply find joy in harassing other people.
Whatever the case may be, it’s highly imperative for you guys to steer clear of these kinds of people to avoid bringing yourself down to their level.
There are a plethora of reasons why haters exist and to be quite honest with you guys, you need them if you want to succeed at anything in life.
I know, sounds pretty crazy, right?
In order for you guys to understand why haters feel the need to doubt you and tear you down, you need to understand the psychology behind their way of thinking.
For the most part, the reason why most people hate on you is that they’re feeling insecure about themselves.
Perhaps they have attempted to do the same exact thing that you set out to do but failed miserably at it.
For example, let’s say that you have a friend who has recently tried to lose weight and get in shape but has failed and he sees you succeeding at the same thing he failed at.
How do you think this is gonna make him/her feel deep down inside?
Chances are, this will infuriate them and make them feel even more secure.
To make matters even worst, you could have achieved the exact goals that they set out to reach but they weren’t willing to commit to them and work towards reaching these goals.
In the next section, I’ll be sharing 7 ways for you to deal with these haters and showing you how to use this as fuel for motivation.
Let’s continue moving forward, shall we?
1) Prove Them Wrong
This has got to be the single most important factor when it comes to successfully dealing with a hater.
I’m not sure about you guys but whenever someone tells me that I can’t do something that gives me the motivation to go out there and prove them wrong.
When I personally started out here in the online world over 6 years ago, I had quite a few haters, but the one that created the most problems for me was my now ex wife.
She has got to be singlehandedly one of the worst negative people I have ever met in my entire life.
Here are just a few things that she said to me when I first started out in the online world.
You’re never going to make a dime with this whole online thing!!
Why don’t you go out and get a real job like everyone else!!
You must be a whole lot stupider than I thought you were!!
I bet you anything the company you paid for this so called training is going on vacation with your money!!
When are you gonna wake up and get your head out of the clouds?
For most people, this could be quite discouraging and could cause you to possibly give up and throw in the towel.
However, I knew what I wanted and instead of letting this get me down, I used it as motivation to prove her wrong.
Needless to say, after about a year of working hard and busting my ass, I was able to make her eat them words and eventually she became one of my biggest fans.
For all the exciting details on how I achieved this, you can read more about it here.
2) Learn From Their Mistakes
While it may not be completely obvious why they failed or what they did or didn’t do to reach their goal, by simply having a conversation about this topic you should be able to gather enough info to learn from them.
Always strive to do your best and no matter what, always do your research about the topic at hand so you’ll know not to follow down the same path that they took.
Ask them what they did and try to find out as many details as you possibly can about the situation
If they gave up and threw in the towel after a few months then you need to take this into consideration as well.
Create some type of a long term strategy, list your goals, write out a weekly schedule, and decide how many hours a night you’re willing to work at this.
I think you’ll be pretty amazed at how much this will motivate you as I have done this several times and it has helped me out immensely.
3) You Must Be Doing Something Right
If you have come to the point where you have a fanbase of haters then you must be doing something right.
Wouldn’t you guys agree?
While they may act as if they could care less about what you’re doing, trust me, they have got their eye on you and are watching your every move.
If you have made it this far then trust me, you’re definitely headed down the path to success and this should lift your spirits and motivate you to continue pushing forward.
4) Take A Step Back & Look Where They Are
One of the best ways that I have learned how to deal with haters is by taking a step back and comparing their life to mine.
What are they doing for a living and what kind of a lifestyle are they living?
Are they living paycheck to paycheck and barely scraping by or are they living a luxurious lifestyle?
Are they just hating on you cause they have nothing better to do or are they just another troll that you need to cut out of your life?
By asking yourself these few questions, this should allow you to look at things from a different perspective and should motivate you to continue pushing forward and working towards your goals.
I have had to do this several times and it has helped me out tremendously and I highly recommend you guys trying this as well as I know for a fact that it works.
5) Without Haters, You Won’t Be Successful
I had briefly mentioned this earlier in this post, but never really went into much detail about it.
This is due to the fact that I had plans to include this in this list so I didn’t want to reveal any spoilers early on.
So why do you need haters to be successful with anything in life?
Well, I don’t think I have ever achieved anything worthwhile in my life without other people having something negative to say about me.
I like to refer to haters as your fanbase because like I said earlier, they are watching your every move even if you don’t realize it.
This is especially true for my situation because shortly after I started making a consistent amount of money in the online space, these haters turned into my biggest fans.
If you don’t have any haters then you’re obviously not doing something right or you haven’t reached this level of success just yet.
Keep pushing forward and putting in the hard work and as long as you don’t give up, you will eventually get to this level at some point in your online career.
Once you do, make sure you come back and read this article for ways to deal with these types of people.
Do we have a deal?
6) Turn The Other Cheek
One of the main reasons why haters feel the need to attack you and try and bring you down is to get a reaction out of you.
The best way for you to deal with this type of behavior is by turning the other cheek and killing them with kindness.
One of the worst things you could possibly do is to retaliate back because this is exactly what they want you to do.
This will only fuel their hate and enable them to get stronger than they were before and plan out their next attack on you.
If they see that you aren’t phased by what they just did and they fail to get the reaction that they were looking for then this will likely piss them off.
It may take a while, but if you stick to this plan and don’t let them distract you from your end goal, you could likely win them over if you stay consistent.
7) Never Give Up
No matter how bad things get, don’t EVER give in to a hater and give them what they want (seeing you give up on your dreams & aspirations)
This is the worst thing you could possibly do and by doing so you’ll only be helping them become stronger and giving them the fuel they need to go out there and destroy someone else’s dreams.
Stick with it, fight the good fight and use the 6 other things I listed within this article to help you learn how to deal with the haters in your life.
Persistence, dedication, and lots of hard work are vital if you want to achieve anything worthwhile in life.
You’ll also need to have broad shoulders and be able to deal with and handle a great amount of criticism if you want to be successful at anything in life that is worthwhile.
Get Out There & Hit A Home Run
I really hope that these 7 things have helped you guys out immensely and have given you the info you need to deal with the haters in your life.
No matter what industry or career choice you have mapped out for yourself, this will naturally come with its own type of haters.
Look at people like Kanye West who is constantly hated on for his views and for standing out and being different from all the other rappers out there in the music industry.
It doesn’t matter if you’re just starting out in the online industry and you’re looking to learn affiliate marketing or if you’re a musician with millions of fans, you’re bound to have haters.
It’s up to you on how you decide to deal with them and hopefully, you were able to gain value from the info that I’ve shared with you guys today.
Still, have questions or got something you would like to add? I would love to hear all about it in the comments below.
Until Next Time
~Your Friend, Scott~
