Have you been searching for a few of the most profitable ways to make money with a website in 2020 and beyond?
If so, then you have definitely come to the right place as I’ll be sharing the most effective (& profitable) ways that I have made money from multiple websites over the past 6 years.
When I first started out nearly 7 years ago I had no idea that I’d be learning how to make money with a website.
As technology continues to evolve this opens the door to a ton of additional opportunities.
Furthermore, it also gives affiliate marketers the chance to generate additional revenue to their website(s).
Within the following post, I’ll be sharing 7 of the most profitable ways that I’ve used to make money with a website. (s)
Consequently, this is due to my hard work, dedication, patience, and taking action on what I’ve learned.
I’m sure that many of you out there have questions like
- Is it really possible to make money with a website?
- How much money can you make?
- and so much more.
I’ll be answering these questions + many more so I invite you guys to stick around and continue reading.
Furthermore, things are about to get pretty damn interesting.
Trust me, you definitely don’t want to miss out on any of this!!
Let’s get started, OK?
#1 Affiliate Marketing
This business model has been around since the mid-’90s.
To this day, it is still one of the best ways to make money online from the comfort of your home without needing to worry about things like
- Keeping inventory
- Purchasing products
- Shipping & Handling
- Customer complaints & Returns
This is also where 90% of my income comes from each & every month for the past 6 years and here is a breakdown of how this works.
- Choose a hobby or interest
- Build a website around this hobby
- Learn how to build an audience of liked minded people within this hobby
- Learn how to convert your visitors into paying customers
Here’s how it works
You would obviously need to have your own website first and a decent amount of content before you can apply to be an affiliate for online retailers like Amazon, Gamestop, Best Buy, & eBay just to name a few.
However, once approved, you’ll be given your own personalized affiliate link that you’ll need to place within the context of your website content and drive targeted traffic to these offers.
There are a variety of ways you can do this but the most effective way that I’ve found is by writing product reviews.
You’ll need to get really creative with your reviews and make sure that you do in depth research and provide your readers with all the info they’re searching for to make a sound decision.
This is where you’ll be researching and writing about specific products that are associated with your niche and reviewing them on your website.
Once people start typing in keywords into Google and these match the words in your review, guess what happens?
Your review will show up in the search results and eventually people will start clicking on your website to see what you have to say.
Once they read your review and like what they have read they will likely be interested in learning more or possibly making a purchase.
They would then click on your affiliate link to visit the online merchant for purchasing options or to learn more about it.
As long as they have clicked your affiliate link and made a purchase, guess what?
You just earned an affiliate commission!!
There is obviously a whole lot more to this than what I mentioned, but this is a brief synopsis of how this works and what you’ll be doing.
2) CPA Marketing
If you would rather make money with a website by promoting offers on your website you may want to consider CPA Marketing.
What I love about this business model is people don’t need to spend money for you to make money.
If you don’t have many hobbies or you aren’t interested in learning affiliate marketing then CPA could be a better alternative for you to consider.
What exactly is CPA (Cost Per Action) marketing?
This is where you’ll get paid for driving targeted leads to a variety of offers out there online for various companies
This includes but is not limited to the following
- Survey sites
- Loan companies
- Market research
- Debt consolidation
- Dating sites
Pretty much any business that relies on generating leads would be an ideal candidate for this type of marketing and will pay you to simply send them fresh targeted leads on a daily basis.
What will people need to do in order for you to get paid?
Well, to be quite honest with you guys today, this varies and can include any of the following
- Filling out a form
- Signing up for a free trial
- Getting some type of quote
- Signing up to an email list
- Making a purchase
With the exception of the last one that I listed above, this doesn’t require anyone to spend money in order for you to make money.
I’m not sure about you guys, but I think this is pretty sweet!!
Wouldn’t you guys, agree?
This is one of the many reasons why I have fallen in love with this business model and why I recommend it so highly to my readers and other people who follow me on other platforms.
Just here recently I received my very first paycheck from one of the most popular CPA marketing networks out there, Max Bounty.
Take a look at how much I was able to earn from promoting a variety of CPA offers on my site on the MB platform below.
How To Find CPA Offers
There are a plethora of CPA offers out there that you can promote and earn a substantial amount of money from.
However, you’ll need to do a great deal of research on this to find the offers that would be the most relevant to your audience and which ones would convert the best for you.
Personally, I use Max Bounty to find the most relevant, high paying offers that convert quite well and like I said earlier, I just received my first paycheck from them a few months back.
There are actually over 1,500 CPA offers(campaigns) that you can join, get your personalized affiliate link and start promoting these offers on your websites right away.
Here are a few of the most popular CPA offers that I’m currently promoting as we speak below
- Survey sites
- Make money online
- Teaching English online
- Financial & banking offers
- Health & Wellness
Also, once your website gets established and you have a decent amount of exposure you’ll find that CPA companies will actually email you and ask you to promote their offers on your website.
I have had this happen multiple times to me and these are actually a few of the highest paying offers that I have on my site at this point in time.
I am also an affiliate for a few other CPA networks that pay me anywhere from $10- $50 or more per lead for finding them, new potential customers.
They are as follows
- Blue Media Ventures
Not all CPA networks were created equal as I have found a few shady ones out there that aren’t worth your time and could possibly rip you off if you aren’t careful.
Do your research to find out which companies are the best and pay the most and get out there and start applying for them.
3) Sponsored Content
Naturally, as your website begins to evolve and gain traction, it’s going to attract attention from other bloggers and established companies online that are looking for sites like yours.
What are they looking for?
They are generally looking for well-established sites that have been around for at least 2 years or more to advertise on and get more exposure to their brand.
What exactly is sponsored content?
As I continued to do my research on this, I thought I’d see what Wikipedia had to say about this and here is what I was able to find out about this.
According to Wikipedia, sponsored content is a type of content that comes from a community-driven oriented website that was written explicitly to advertise for another company.
The main purpose of these types of posts/ content is to raise awareness for a particular company or brand and get the word out.
How Much Money Can You Make?
This really depends on the type of content that you’re being asked to publish on your website as well as a few other factors.
These are as follows
- Domain age
- Site authority
- Your traffic numbers
- Your following on social media
- Your influence online
Based on my personal results that I’ve had working with a few companies, they started me out at $50 per article submission and told me they would adjust my pay accordingly as my website evolved.
Now that I come to think of it, I did get paid $200 for an article submission about a year ago.
As you can see the amount of money you can make from sponsored content really does vary depending on the company and the context of the sponsored content.
Here are multiple payments that I received from a sponsored content company.
It’s important to keep in mind that this payment was sent directly to my PayPal account in under 24 hours after I published their content on my site.
I would be very selective with the amount of sponsored posting submissions I would accept tho as this can lower the quality of your site if you take too many at 1 time.
I would accept these types of posts in moderation (2-3 posts a month) and see how that works out for you and increase this number accordingly.
4) Running Ads On Your Site
Once your site has started to gain traction and you’re getting a consistent flow of traffic on a daily basis then you might want to consider running ads on your site.
There is actually a minimum amount of traffic that you’ll need to be generating on a daily basis and there are basically 2 types of ads you can get paid for and these are as follows.
- CPM Ads- (Cost Per Impression) These are fixed priced ads that will pay you a specified amount for every 1,000 views each one of your ads receives.
- CPC Ads- ( Cost Per Click) These types of ads will pay you so much per click when a user clicks on an ad on your site.
How profitable this is will entirely depend on the volume of traffic you have coming to your site on a daily basis.
I know a buddy of mine who is earning a thousand dollars from ads alone and this is pretty impressive if you ask me.
Wouldn’t you guys agree?
There are many ad platforms out there that will pay you for this form of advertising and here are just a handful of one that I can think of off the top of my head
- Google Adsense
- + many others
Unlike affiliate marketing where you’ll be focusing primarily on writing product reviews, blogging is another excellent way for you to generate a great amount of revenue to your site.
By simply mixing things up a bit and coming up with a content strategy you’ll be surprised at how many income streams you can create by being creative.
Starting a blog is one of the absolutely best ways to make money from your website.
However, without a step by step blogging guide, you’ll become quite overwhelmed within your first couple of days due to everything you need to learn to become successful with this.
You’ll be writing on a variety of different topics and learning how to create various types of content that all promote something different.
This type of content will be displayed in your typical diary-style format where the latest post will be featured at the top and each additional entry will be listed below.
The topics you would be writing on would vary depending on your niche, but here are a few that I can think of off the top of my head
- Motivational posts
- How to type of posts
- List posts (7 reasons why you should launch your blog today)
- Informative & detailed posts
- Product Reviews
Also, now that I think about it, you could also write a blog post on the things I’ve uncovered within this post & a significant amount of money from these alone.
Not to mention the fact that your potential for finding things to blog about is virtually endless.
Did you know that there are currently 3.75 Billion searches that are typed into Google’s search engine on a day to day basis?
If you could tap into only 1/3 of these searches and provide people with a solution to their problem and fill their needs you would be earning a really respectable income online as a result.
This happens to be one of my favorite ways to make money and this should have been further up on my list than it currently is, but for now, I’ll rank it as No 5.
6) Renting Out Space On Your Website
As a website owner, you have an incredible advantage in bringing in additional revenue each month by simply renting out space on your website for people to place an ad.
Depending on the size and nature of the ad would determine how much you could charge for this kind of service.
Typically, you could charge anywhere from a couple hundred to a couple thousand a month for them to place an ad on your site.
This would have to be one of the easiest ways to earn residual income month after money for practically do nothing more than placing an ad on your website.
Other than minimal maintenance that you’ll need to do to make sure the ad is performing well and giving your clients the exposure they’re wanting you wouldn’t need to do anything.
You could possibly earn a full time living from this alone and something that you definitely shouldn’t overlook.
This would depend on whether you have 200 visitors a day, or 200,000 a day.
You would obviously need to have your website ranked toward the top of page 1 and have at least a couple thousand visitors per day before you even think about offering this type of service.
For now, I would simply take notes on the information I’m sharing with you guys today, and put this on a bucket list or to do list of ways to make money with your website in the near future.
Sound like a plan?
Let’s continue moving forward, shall, we?
7) Guest Posting
While this type of posting isn’t anywhere near as popular as it was when I entered the online world back in 2012, it’s still a decent way to earn money with a website in 2019.
There are actually 2 forms of guest posting and I’ll be revealing what they are next so let’s get right into it, OK?
I have received emails from people asking me if I was accepting guest posting submissions at this time & if so, how much was I charging for these submissions.
At the same time, I have received multiple emails from other bloggers in the industry who were simply looking for a backlink.
These are the type of submissions you need to be careful with as they could possibly negatively impact your rankings within Google.
Paid guest posting submissions can pay anywhere from $50 and up depending on the type of content and how long it is in length.
I have actually earned $100 from guest posting which roughly boils down to 2 articles altogether.
There are actually more SEO benefits to have guest bloggers posting on your site and if done correctly & the right way can lead to much better rankings in the SERPs which means more traffic.
The Best Place To Build A Profitable Website
I’m sure that many of you may be excited about getting your website started but you aren’t exactly sure how to get rolling or have any idea where to start.
Am I right?
Trust me, I know how you must feel about now as I wondered the same thing back when I started here over 6 years ago.
I would hear of people making a killing off their website and see multiple screenshots of how much they were earning.
There was just 1 thing missing that they always seemed to leave out.
Can you guys guess what that 1 thing is?
They would always fail to provide you with any quality training or tools or even show you how they were able to become so successful.
I’m sure that many of you have experienced this many times while searching for a way to make money online and this is really annoying and tbh, downright, rude.
Don’t you just hate that?
I struggled with this for years, until I finally stumbled upon a program that actually shows you how to make all of this work and provides you with step by step training.
What’s the name of this program you may ask?
The name of this company is called Wealthy Affiliate!!
It’s because of their detailed & step by step training that I have learned the proper way to earn a consistent living from my websites for the past 6 years.
Instead of telling me I would become the next millionaire and earn $1,000 in the next 2 or 3 days, they actually took the time to sit down and explain how this works & showed me how easy it was to get started.
