What Is YouGov Surveys?
YouGov is an opinion poll/ survey panel based out of London, UK.
Stephan Shakespeare and Nadhim Zahawi founded YouGov in May, 2000.
Within that time, this survey panel has become the market research industry leader.
With an impressive nine million members and counting, this market research company dabs into the more controversial topics.
These topics include but aren’t limited to the following.
- Cultural beliefs
With their strong influence in the media, there’s a chance your opinions could get featured on your local news station.
How sweet is that?
Furthermore, since YouGov’s data and analytics get frequently shared across various media platforms, your honest opinion helps shape the news.
Now that you’ve got a brief understanding of what YouGov is, let’s see how easy it is to create an account.
Are you guys still following me?
Getting Started With YouGov
Getting started is pretty straightforward.
You’ll need to enter a valid email address and create a unique password to get started.
From there, you’ll need to verify your email address to activate your account.
To do so, check the email that you used to register your account.
To activate your account, click the verification link found inside the email that YouGov has just sent you.
Once you’ve completed this task, your first 1,000 point survey is awaiting you.
Additionally, you’ll unlock many bonuses and incentives as you continue completing surveys and racking up points.
Also, you’ll have the opportunity to earn 2,000 points taking your second survey.
It took me less than 2 minutes to complete this survey.
Shortly afterward, these points showed up in my account.
Like any other survey panel, you’ll need to thoroughly complete your profile surveys and choose an avatar to represent you.
Do you guys like my avatar?
As I navigated my way through this massive survey panel, I discovered many opinion polls, daily questions, and various topics to offer my opinion.
If you’re still confused about which group of people would make a good fit for this program, I advise you to continue reading.
I’ll be disclosing this information next, so don’t even think about going anywhere.
YouGov Targeted Audience
YouGov would be a perfect fit for anyone interested in getting paid for their opinion.
However, you must be 16 years of age or older to join this survey panel and create an account.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a college student searching for a way to pay for your books and school supplies or a stay at home mom, you could benefit from this program.
Furthermore, if you’re an empty nester or a baby boomer interested in different ways to get paid to voice your opinion, I think YouGov would be an excellent fit for you.
Last, but certainly not least is millennials.
You guys are the future of tomorrow.
Therefore, you may be the most targeted relevant audience out there.
Without the opinion of millennials, there is no tomorrow.
Wouldn’t you guys agree?
It doesn’t matter if you’re a teenager (16 years and up) in need of money to go to the movies with your friends, or a retired factory worker, you could benefit from the YouGov survey panel.
Here’s What I Liked About YouGov
- Surveys are fun and engaging
- Surveys pay 300-1,000 points each
- Variety of reward options
- Minimal disqualifications
- Supports PayPal
- Variety of ways to earn money
Here’s What I Didn’t Like About YouGov
- The payment threshold is relatively high (25,000)
- No E-gift cards ( Gift cards mailed within 2-4 weeks)
The surveys at YouGov are of the utmost quality, highly engaging, fun, and interactive.
Furthermore, most surveys take between 8- 12 minutes to complete.
However, the higher-paying surveys (1,000) points and up could take up to 25 minutes.
I took a 500 point survey a couple of hours ago, and it took me approximately 12 minutes to complete.
You’ll earn anywhere from 500 to 1,000 points for each survey you take.
However, there are surveys that only pay 100 points.
Also, depending on your profile demographics this will determine which surveys you’ll match up with.
If you’ve listed that you’re a 46-year-old white male with no health coverage, you’ll likely get surveys based on health insurance.
It makes sense.
In addition to these types of surveys, you could get invited to participate in an interactive study.
To participate, you’ll need to have access to a functional webcam.
Furthermore, you’ll also need to grant YouGov access to your webcam.
By doing so, they’ll record your facial expressions and reactions while watching the video or advertisement.
These surveys pay significantly more as there is a decent amount of interaction required on your part.
Other YouGov Opportunities
Besides taking YouGov surveys, there are a few additional ways to make money with this survey panel.
Like other survey panels of this nature, they have a referral program that enables you to earn up to 2,000 points for each person that signs up using your referral link.
To get full credit for these referrals, they’ll need to complete four surveys.
As far as I know, there are no limits as to how many people you refer to this survey panel.
If you’ve had success referring people to sign up for other survey panels in the past, you may want to apply to their affiliate program.
If you’re an advanced marketer, you may want to check out their CPA program that pays $3 per lead.
Additionally, you may receive an invitation to participate in a focus group or case study.
If you’re lucky enough to receive an invitation and participate, you could earn up to $350 (depending on location and other variables)
As I continued to work my way through this survey panel, I discovered that they also offered product testing opportunities for loyal and consistent panelists.
Once you’ve taken a decent amount of surveys and started racking up the points, it’s time to cash these points in for rewards.
There are a variety of ways to be rewarded with YouGov.
They are as follows:
- Gift Cards
- PayPal Cash
- Movie vouchers
- Donate to charity
As you’ll see in the screenshot below, there are many gift card options available at your fingertips.
It can take up to 4 weeks to receive your gift card, as mentioned earlier.
Therefore, you’ll need to enter your correct mailing address when you initially sign up.
Gift cards will be mailed to your physical address on file,, so make
PayPal cash usually credits within 72 hours (3 business days)
YouGov Payment Threshold
The minimum payment threshold to cashout with YouGov is 25,000 for those living within the continental United States.
However, for those residing in Australia and the United Kingdom, the payment threshold is 35,000.
While this may seem significantly higher than most survey panels, there is a good reason behind it.
What’s that, Scott?
The reason behind the high payment threshold is the fact that YouGov pays you generously for the surveys you complete.
Therefore, it shouldn’t take you more than sixty to ninety days to cash out and get paid for your opinions.
Except for the YouGov survey I took earlier this afternoon, the previous ones paid anywhere from 500-2,000 points each.
As you can see, these points add up quickly.
If you’re active and consistent, taking surveys on the YouGov panel will be worth your time and energy.
Here lately, I’ve been pretty avid about taking surveys.
Within this week alone, I’ve made over $50 taking surveys, and the week isn’t quite over yet.
This money didn’t come from YouGov as I just signed up a few days ago.
It came from the wide variety of survey panels I participate in daily.
Pretty impressive if I might say so myself.
Wouldnt you guys agree?
YouGov Surveys Closing Thoughts
I’ve reviewed quite a few survey sites in my time as an online marketer.
Therefore, I know the good from the bad and can smell a scam from a mile away.
After doing some in-depth research, I’ve concluded that YouGov surveys are far from a scam.
Furthermore, I discovered that YouGov is one of the most trusted survey sites out there that pay you very well for each survey.
If you have no problem sharing your opinions on some of the most controversial topics out there like
- and much more
If these topics interest you, then you may want to consider becoming a member of this survey panel.
However, one of the things that I think is stupid is that they mail your rewards to you.
Instead of emailing a code to you that you can redeem within minutes, they make you wait 2- 4 weeks through snail mail.
I think somebody needs to get with the times and learn how to operate in a digital economy.
What do you guys think?
Anyways, I hope this detailed YouGov Surveys Review has given you an inside look at the type of surveys to expect before you sign up.
I also hope I’ve helped you answer the question,” What Is YouGov Surveys?
If not, then I’d love to answer them for you in the comments section below.
I’ll reply to you, usually within 24 hours.
